Gifted and talent assessments do not have to be a hassle or confusing. Public schools in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties ALL have to meet the same basic criteria. To be automatically eligible for placement into a Gifted educational program, the student must obtain a standard score of 130 (98th percentile) on a normed intellectual/cognitive assessment. These assessments can include the Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence, 4th edition, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 5th edition, the Differential Abilities Scale, 3nd edition, the Reynolds Intellectual Abilities Scale, 2nd edition among others.
